Frequently Asked Questions

  • Dancing is about movement and enjoyment - wear something that makes you feel comfortable! Good flat shoes or sneakers are the best to start with. No jandals please.

  • Absolute beginners are welcome. Like most new things you try, it will take a bit of time before it becomes second nature - but practice makes perfect! Our classes are well structured to make learning easy to understand and lots of fun.

  • We allow new students to join Salsa or Bachata classes in the first 3 weeks of each Term.
We also offer a free level assessment if you have some experience but are not sure which level you should join.

  • No partner is needed for any of our classes. We regularly switch partners throughout the class so that even if the numbers are uneven, everyone gets the chance to dance.

  • This depends entirely on the individual, their experience and how much effort and practice you can put in outside of class.

It doesn’t take long to learn enough moves to enjoy a full dance, but like any skill, the more you practice, the better you become.

We highly recommend that everyone complete our Beginners/Foundation classes to get a proper understanding of leading and following techniques and how to connect with your partner before moving onto the next level. Repeating Beginners courses can be very beneficial, especially for leads.

  • The best way to fast forward your dancing skills is to practice! Join our regular classes, attend our social dance events and when you really want to kick start your learning, invest in private lessons.
